Thanks to the generosity of Capt. Peter Beveridge (last 3rd Mate of Port Victor) living in Auckland, New Zealand we had the pleasure in forwarding the nameplate of MV Port Victor to the Museum at East Fortune to join HMS Nairana’s badge.

(Nairana) - Port Victor Nameplate.

This plate was attached to the ship by Harland & Wolff when HMS Nairana was converted from escort carrier to cargo passenger liner in 1948 at Belfast.
In addition, our grateful thanks must go to Donna McErlane of Burnard International, Auckland for organising the efficient transportation of the weighty plate to Glasgow, free of charge.
We are now looking for HMS Nairana’s original nameplate. Any help in the search would be much appreciated please.
